Outside the Box
I find it natural to think outside the box. Its actually a challenge for me to think inside the box. Follow me outside the box and you'll be sure to have gained something worth remembering!

PC On Life Support Part Two
For several days now, the HTML blog editor has ceased functioning. I can no longer write in paragraphs, spell check, insert links or add images, videos or scripts. Its looking like the only thing left to do is write single paragraphs - until I have a new PC that is. I really like breaking my thoughts into paragraphs - mostly for your reading comfort. Nothing looks more daunting than a lot of separate thoughts all in one paragraph. I'm amazed at how many people do it.

The Potential of Blogging
Now I am beginning to understand the potential of blogging. Google blogging is especially interesting and there's a whole lot of it that I need to study. One thing I don't like about blogging is that its very linear. Its like a long time based scroll. Web sites on the other hand are like a hub from where you can go any number of directions.
I can see ways around that though - with blogs, using well titled entries on the Archived links to the right. Even better, link some of those dated entries to a second or even third blog.
I'm sure seasoned bloggers will read this and think "where have you been?" My answer would be that I've never read anyone's blog before. I'm not interested in copying or imitating what others are already doing.

There's a reason I call this blog "Outside the Box"
Below is a Gray Monochrome Acrylic painting I did of a Hopewell Indian
Shaman. The portrait was based on the assistance of two archeologi sts in Ohio. This Indian lived some 1,500 years ago!
Clouds I've Seen
I've figured out how to present slideshows of clouds in this test - that I uploaded onto Picasa a few years ago. Using the Firefox tabs, it was a matter of keeping the blog editor open while copying the Picasa slideshow code on another tab then of course, pasting it onto the blog HTML editor. I'm irritated that I can't center the show.
I've always loved photographing clouds and actually have a lot more than the ones seen in this slide show.

Pushing the Envelope
Over the next few days, I'll be pushing the envelope on what all can be done on a PC that can only function as a browser. This is a good test of thinking outside the box. consider what this PC can't do...
- The system tray is gone.
- If the Start button is clicked, the system reboots.
- If I try to open/upload an image, the system reboots.
- If I try to download anything, the system freezes
- Internet Explorer won't open. Google Chrome won't open.
- Nothing will run from task manager accept Firefox.
Malfunctioning PC
Today, I'm thinking about how I can keep my malfunctioning PC operational yet another day. It has a number of problems including a hardware issue with the mother-board's in-capacity to use RAM properly. I can't access my images of art, poems and journal entries. None of my web building software can function - not even notepad works.
The good news is that I will soon have a new PC my brother is almost done building for me - that includes a quad core processor and video card to die for. What's also cool is that I'll be able to put all my other hard drives in it where I can access years of art and data I've stored on them!
I have several videos that I've made cleverly using various software programs that were intended for other things. When I publish them here next month, I'll explain how they were accomplished by thinking outside the box.
Back to today's mission: I'll end this post with a well known quote: "When there's a will, there's a way" :)

Posting Outside the Box Starts Here
Hello outsiders. I'd been thinking of writing a blog for some years now and couldn't decide on what topics could be significant enough for you 'outsiders' to read.
We've already seen so many 'bloggers' writing about their daily dramas of loosing their car keys, "Mary Lu changed her hair color OMG!" and news that "Michael Jackson's missing glove has now been found"... Ahem...
Well, I won't waste your precious time on trivial nonsense.
The postings here are eclectic. The topics have no limits. No Box here.
Here, you'll find ideas of my own and others, news snippets, personal discoveries and observations about life and beyond; theories of what was, what is and what is to come, wonders of the universe, some of my own art and poetry and anything else that might happen to add a glimmer of light in your day.
Amazing things are going on that don't make the headlines or nightly news so, when I come across these gems, I'll share them here :)
Sound like a lot to promise? Maybe but these are all things I am passionate about and enjoy sharing them.
